For years, I searched for confidence in all the places the world told me to look.
When I chose not to reconstruct, I realized something quickly — the world doesn’t know what to do with a woman who’s flat and confident.
There weren’t clothes designed for us. There weren’t brands celebrating us. There weren’t conversations about what happens after treatment ends. There was silence and I knew deeply that needed to change.
Cancer may take a breast, but it does not mean you have to give your power to it. For me and so many others I have spoken to, the real journey began after we were cancer free. Navigating identity. Body image. Mental health. Choosing every single day how I was going to respond to what happened to me was a struggle, but I eventually decided to respond with empowerment. And now it's time others to do the same!
Flatties Wear™ was born from that decision.
I didn’t want to hide. I didn’t want to “fix” myself. I didn’t want women like me to feel alone. I wanted us to see ourselves reflected. To feel beautiful. To feel strong. To feel celebrated. Even if one breast or both breasts were now absent. It doesn't take away our beauty.
This brand is for every woman who has stood in front of the mirror and wondered who she is now.
