Meet Your Coach
Jondrea Phelps-Hell
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I already knew how to survive a war no one else could see. I just didn't know yet that treatment would be the easier part and that the hardest fight would be the one that started after it ended, in the silence nobody prepares you for.
I got through treatment. And then I found myself in the after, the part where the appointments stop, the "you did it" cards stop coming, and you're left alone with a body and a mind that don't feel like yours anymore. I didn't have a map for that phase. But I did have something else: thirty years of already knowing how to fight my way back from the floor.
The War Before the War
Long before my diagnosis, I'd spent three decades battling anxiety and depression, ADHD, and the after-effects of a lifetime of trauma stacked on top of more trauma. I did everything I was told to do about it, medication, therapy, all the traditional paths. On the worst nights, I reached for a bottle of wine, just to quiet the noise long enough to keep functioning as a professional, a mom, a wife. To keep showing up as the person everyone needed me to be.
At 32, that all came to a head. I found myself on the bathroom floor, hugging the toilet for three days straight. No food. No sleep. No water. Anxiety wasn't just winning, it had taken over completely.
That was the moment I stopped waiting for someone else to fix it. I decided I would become the expert myself.
I went back to school for Clinical Psychology, behavioral sciences, human and family development. Determined to master my own mind from the inside out, with knowledge as my weapon.
I failed miserably.
All the theory in the world didn't touch what was actually happening in my body. Understanding why I felt the way I felt didn't make the feeling stop. I needed something that worked underneath thought, not just within it.
What Finally Gave Me Something to Stand On
So I started looking outside the traditional playbook, meditation, energy work, life coaching, and modalities most of the Western world had never heard of. I tried almost everything.
And then I found HypnoBreathwork®.
I want to be honest about what that meant, and what it didn't. It didn't erase thirty years of history overnight, and it isn't a cure all. But for the first time, I had a tool that worked at the level my pain actually lived in my nervous system and subconscious mind, not just in my thinking. It gave me real, lasting relief in a way nothing else had, and it became the foundation everything after was built on.
Why It's What I Turned to for Breast Cancer
That foundation is exactly why, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, HypnoBreathwork® is what I turned to. It's what helped me not just get through treatment, but actually process it, and it's what carried me through the unspoken part that came after: rebuilding trust in a body that felt like it had betrayed me, figuring out who I was underneath "patient" and "fighter" once the fight was officially declared over even though it didn't feel that way inside, and navigating how my closest relationships shifted in ways nobody warned me about.
It's the exact modality I've built my coaching practice around, because I know firsthand what it's capable of holding, and because I know what it's like to be handed a "you're done" narrative that doesn't match what you're actually feeling.
The Ripple Effect
Breast cancer wasn't the only place this work showed up for me. In the years around it, I also leaned on HypnoBreathwork® through divorce, assault, and job loss, and it's part of what's helped me move forward into actually thriving, not just getting by, as a parent, a professional, and a partner. Learning to rebuild relationships after they'd been reshaped by crisis wasn't a side effect of this work. It became one of the things I understand most deeply, and one of the things I help clients work through directly.
I'm no longer willing to keep what's supported me to myself. This new era, this version of me, exists because of this work and I'm on a mission to help other women find their way to it too.
Why I Do This Work
I'm not a coach who read about resilience in a book. I've hugged the toilet floor at 32 with nothing left. I've sat in an oncology waiting room, then sat with the silence that came after it. I've rebuilt a life more than once, from further down than most people ever have to go.
I work best with women who don't have the luxury of disappearing to "find themselves" women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who are still building a career, still raising kids, still expected to function at full capacity while quietly falling apart underneath it. I know that particular double bind from the inside.
I'm not here to tell you to think positive or push through it. I'm here because I know, from the inside, what it actually takes to come back to yourself and I know a modality that can help get you there.
If any part of this sounds like your own version of that 3 a.m. you don't have to figure out the after alone.
